Fridays are different: Shabbat (Sabbath) is the cornerstone of Jewish family life. It is a time when the family comes together, everyone slows down and we simply enjoy each other’s company.
We mark Shabbat at camp each Friday with all-camp themed programs involving the entire camp! Staff get dressed up in character and campers usually have a mission to accomplish or problem to solve.
We also have a cookout for the whole camp lunch on Fridays, followed by a Shabbat celebration where we sing songs and campers might get the chance to perform what they worked on in hobbies.
Shabbat activities include things like:
Apache Relays
Scavenger Hunts
Field Days
Talent Shows
Color Wars
Special guests
